Nature Explorers

I have grown professionally alongside the development of the Nature Explorers Program. I started as a recreation specialist leading programs in the field. Using my field knowledge, I helped write two grant applications, resulting in awards in 2014 and 2019, and helped streamline the design of the program’s curriculum and evaluation process.

Funded through California State Parks Office of Grants and Local Services, the Nature Explorers Program is a strategic plan for increasing local awareness of resources and recreational opportunities.

Designed to provide access to green space through safe and responsible recreation, program excursions range from day hikes, overnight camping to service-learning projects.

Program Curriculum

Shortly after the full release of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in April of 2013, I helped revamp the Nature Explorers Program by incorporating NGSS standards into its curriculum.
